One person was killed and two seriously injured Friday night in a crash on Eiland Boulevard west of Old Geiger Road.
John Riskus, 38, of Murfreesboro, Tenn. was killed when the 2007 Ford Focus he was driving collided with a 2008 Dodge station wagon operated by Randy Beital, 43, of Zephyrhills. The accident occurred about 7:45 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported Riskus was traveling eastbound on Eiland Boulevard approaching Old Geiger Road and Beital's vehicle was headed westbound on Eiland Boulevard, about one half mile west of Old Geiger Road.
The police report said Rickus's car drifted over the centerline into the path of Beital's vehicle. The Focus collided with the left front of the station wagon and came to a final rest facing northwest in left turn lane of Eiland Boulevard. Beital's vehicle came to a halt off the shoulder of westbound Eiland Boulevard facing southeast.
Pasco County Fire Rescue pronounced Riskus pronounced dead at the scene. Beital and his passenger Zachary Beital, 12, were transferred to St. Joseph's Hospital where they were listed in serious condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
