A 19-year-old male was arrested Friday night on charges of child abuse.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies say Rafael Moreno, 19, an extended family member of residents living at 10726 Skewlee Road, lot No. 14 in Thonotosassa, entered the home where four minor children were present.
The mother of the children, whose name was not available and who was not at home at the time, earlier instructed Moreno not to be around the children in her absence.
The police report said Moreno proceeded to wrench a 7-year-old girl's arm behind her back, slap her on the legs and throw her on top of a 10-year-old boy, . The man then attempted to pull the boy's pants down and pushed another male, age 12, toward the boy's rear end, commanding him to "smell it, smell it."
When a nearby 10-year-old female tried to stop Moreno, police say he struck her on the arm. When deputies arrived the children were crying.
His bail is set at $2,000.
