Friends of 17-year-old Dustin Sean White gathered Sunday afternoon around the cordoned-off clubhouse parking lot where the teen was shot and killed early Sunday morning.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called at 2:13 a.m. to the parking lot of the Lake Padgett Estates clubhouse.
White, of 22431 Stillwood Drive, Land O' Lakes, was in the parking lot with a group of friends after a party nearby when he was shot, the sheriff's office said.
The teenager finished his junior year at Land O' Lakes High School on June 3.
"He was a good kid, always outgoing. Just out to have fun," said Nick Palumbo, who heard from his parents that his friend had been killed.
"He didn't mean any harm to anybody," Palumbo said.
Gregg Fagan, who lives across the street from the clubhouse at 4533 Savanah Drive, said he heard noise of a party going on early in the morning, then a gunshot sometime after 2 a.m. He first thought the noise came from fireworks.
He found out Sunday morning from a neighbor that someone had been killed across the street from his home.
The clubhouse was closed at the time, the sheriff's office said
