LARGO - The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting with a big mystery: Investigators don't know where the victim was shot.

Two men left the victim, 28-year-old Almonzo Marshall, in front of Shatdra Rutledge's home, at 15448 Waverly St. Apt. 2 in Clearwater, about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff's office said. Marshall had been shot, deputies said.

Somebody called for help, and paramedics took Marshall to Largo Medical Center, where he died. Marshall had lived at 600 Starkey Road Apt. 1319 in Largo. He was released from prison in January after serving a year and a day for two counts of the sale of cocaine and two counts of cocaine possession, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.

Detectives are working with Rutledge and following leads to discover where the shooting occurred. This morning, the sheriff's office released the names of the men who brought Marshall to Rutledge's apartment and said detectives want to talk with them.

The men, identified as Anthony Marshall, 29, and Tristan Hamilton, 24, are not considered suspects, sheriff's office spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said. The relationships between those men and the victim and the victim and Rutledge have not been established.

It is not known whether Anthony Marshall is related to Almonzo Marshall, Barreda said. Like Almonzo Marshall, Anthony Marshall has served prison time on cocaine charges. Hamilton has served time for armed burglary, Pinellas court records show.

Anyone with information about Almonzo Marshall, what he was doing Sunday night or the shooting is asked to call the sheriff's office at (727) 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
