Tarpon Springs man dies in crane accident

Pinellas County authorities have identified the man who died Monday in a Palm Harbor marina accident.

Authorities said the victim is Ivan Hubbert, 71, of 56 Drury Lane, Tarpon Springs.

Hubbert was killed at about 5:30 p.m. when the crane he was operating fell over on its side as he was working at the Home Port Marina, 135 Orange St.

Hubbert was thrown from the crane to the pavement. Responding paramedics said he suffered severe head trauma.

Pinellas County deputies and representatives from U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are continuing their investigation into the accident.
