Garbage pickup makeup days trashed

TAMPA - The city will no longer offer "holiday makeup" days for trash and recycling.
For Tampa customers with regularly scheduled trash and recycling pickup that falls on holidays, the city will resume collection on the next scheduled pickup day instead of a makeup day.
The changes will affect residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection services.
The move is a product of Mayor Pam Iorio's Efficiency and Effectiveness Task Force, which has been exploring ways to reduce costs and streamline municipal government.
