Hours after a Seminole bank was robbed, a drunken man with red dye on his body was arrested and charged with bank robbery, Pinellas County deputies say.
Michael Prance, who is 53 and homeless, robbed RBC Bank at 1:52 p.m. Thursday at Seminole Mall, 11201 Park Blvd., according to deputies.
He was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Thursday outside Seminole Subs, 11775 Seminole Blvd.
He also was charged with disorderly intoxication.
"Detectives say Prance had in his possession the black bag utilized in the bank robbery," a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office news release states. "It was covered with a substantial amount of the red dye. The bag contained the full undisclosed sum of money that had been stolen from the bank hours earlier."
Shortly before 6 p.m., deputies came to Caribbean Mobile Home Park, 12100 Seminole Blvd., after a person complained that a drunk and disorderly person had been around the community pool.
"The witness reported that the subject who was stumbling around the pool area, was carrying a bottle of wine and had a red substance on him that resembled dye," the news release states. "When the suspect was approached, he became belligerent towards the complainant. The complainant asked him to leave and the suspect eventually did so."
Deputies searched the area but didn't find the suspect.
Deputies later received a call from a bus driver who reported a person matching the suspect's description was belligerent with him near Seminole Subs.
