TAMPA - Amariles Pena was walking by La Teresita grocery store on Thursday afternoon when a car pulling into a parking space knocked her through the glass door of the store, then rammed into the building as well.
Sandor Perez-Cabrera, 29, of Tampa, was maneuvering a 1997 green Mercury Cougar into a parking space about 2:30 p.m. and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, police say.
Pena, 31, of Tampa, suffered road rash, bruises, cuts and internal injuries. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Nancy Garcia, 22, of Tampa, fell and was struck by glass when the car hit the store at 3302 Columbus Blvd. She suffered minor injuries.
Police ticketed Perez-Cabrera for careless driving.
