Your instinct will tell you when you should stop driving your car, and you should act on it. Don't go for the idea one old-timer gave me: "They're going to have to pry my fingers from gripping the steering wheel to make me quit driving."
This is not a good idea because you might also be pried from a wrecked car.
But if someone tells you you can no longer drive, you will always resent it. And your attitude about the decision is hurtful to the person having to make the decision. Quite often I hear: "My son took my car away from me."
I made the decision to stop driving over a year ago. I'm happy with my choice, and so is everyone else. The only thing I miss is looking for my keys.
