Disgraceful health costs

Health-care costs are destroying my small business. My self-employed premium went up to $696 per month. That is insurance for one person, only me, no family.

When it goes up again, I do not think I will be able to afford it. I am barely able to pay my bills now. I have a pre-existing condition, so shopping for insurance is not an option for me. I am being held hostage by Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

My sister's family cannot even afford health insurance at all, and they are currently uninsured. The insurance companies are ripping us off. They must be reined in.

Only a real public option will help us control the greedy insurance companies. Otherwise, you are going to see even more families uninsured. This is a disgrace for the richest country in the world.

Stop playing with our lives and pass real health-care reform now.
