Polk County detectives arrested a state Department of Corrections correctional officer Monday after she tried buying prescription narcotics from an undercover detective, deputies say.
Deborah Frisina, 51, works at the Zephyrhills Correctional Institution.
Frisina was booked into the Polk County Jail on Monday. She was charged with buying a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and attempted trafficking in oxycodone.
"She told the detective that she wanted to purchase the narcotics for her own personal use to manage pain," a Polk County Sheriff's Office news release states.
Frisina also said she has a problem and needs to be placed in a treatment program, deputies say.
