I heard Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., saying something to the effect that we don't want a government run health care program because we don't want a government bureaucrat standing between the patient and his/her doctor.
He needs to be reminded that we have that now, but the bureaucrat is an employee of a private insurance company. That private-sector bureaucrat stands between the patient and the patient's doctor by the plan dictating which doctors one can go to. They also have influence over what medications will be covered by insurance regardless of what the doctor says.
The Medicare program actually offers more of a free choice than the private insurance companies. How about that?
