The Hillsborough House of Hope will christen its second home today, a residence for women who graduate from its program for those who have been incarcerated, have substance abuse problems or both.
The women live at House of Hope while undergoing counseling and other treatment.
It has served 73 women.
There are 25 women on the House of Hope's waiting list.
House of Hope founder Margaret Palmer worked for many years as a volunteer counselor for female inmates in Hillsborough County jails.
She saw inmates make significant changes in their lives. Some would end up back in jail shortly after being released.
Palmer established the Hillsborough House of Hope to help end that cycle.
