TAMPA - The annual summer convention of the Church of God in Christ will draw 12,000 people to Tampa from Monday through July 3, resulting in the sale of 12,000 hotel room nights to out-of-town visitors, Tampa Bay & Co. reported.
The International Auxiliaries in Ministry Convention is expected to boost local summer visitor expenditures by more than $12.5 million, according to Hillsborough County's visitors marketing group.
The conference at the Tampa Convention Center will draw visitors from dozens of countries.
