Orlando International Airport will receive about $15 million in federal stimulus funding for two new inline baggage handling systems, federal officials said Monday.
The airport operates three inline systems; the two new inline systems will replace 34 standalone screening machines.
Tampa International Airport in 2004 became the first U.S. airport to implement a multiuser, inline baggage handling system.
TIA continues to seek reimbursement from the federal government for the systems it installed, airport director Louis Miller said.
