People with a little extra cash and a penchant for flying and fishing in Florida can find something on Craigslist that could make their day: an airport priced for quick sale at just below $1.6 million.
It has a 2,700-foot grass runway on about 19 acres on Pine Island, west of Cape Coral and south of the fishing village of Bokeelia.
Owner Wayne Reed is throwing in seven hangars and a zoning permit that allows for construction of 13 more hangars, a house and a barn.
"I don't want to spend my golden years cutting grass. I want to get back out on the water," said Reed, 62.
Reed retired from the auto repair business in Kentucky. He relocated to Cape Coral in 1999, becoming a pilot and then buying the airport in 2002.
He says he has had a few nibbles but no solid offers.
