Progress Energy on Tuesday named Vincent M. Dolan as successor to Jeffrey J. Lyash as president and CEO of Progress Energy Florida, which serves more than 1.6 million Florida households and businesses.
Dolan, 54, has been with Progress Energy and predecessor Florida Power Corp. since 1986 in positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as vice president of external relations for Progress Energy Florida.
Lyash, Progress Energy Florida's president and CEO since 2006, has been named executive vice president for corporate development for the Florida division's parent company, Raleigh, N.C.-based Progress Energy, focusing on efforts to expand energy efficiency and renewable energy resources and to modernize power plants.
Outside the company, Lyash has been a relatively high-profile figure in the Tampa Bay area's business community, recently helping steer a committee of business people in identifying a potential new stadium site for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team.
The new assignments are effective July 6.
