Brides rushed into Goodwill's Central Plaza Superstore on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg this morning for the third annual Wedding Gala.
"About hundred plus women came through the doors" when they opened at 6 a.m., said Goodwill spokeswoman Michael Ann Harvey.
Bride-to-be Skyler Rivers nabbed the fourth spot in line at 3:30 this morning. Once inside, "It was like white flying everywhere."
This year's sale, the third, is the biggest ever with 400 new designer wedding gowns at deeply discounted prices. Labels included Demetrios, Rivini, Cosmobella Collection and Alfred Angelo. Gowns that can retail for up to $2,000 were priced from $60 to $375.
Rivers snagged a Demetrios.
"The original tag on it was $1,300. I got it for $260," she said.
The sale continues Saturday at the new Goodwill Superstore in Oldsmar, 3929 Tampa Road, and again doors open at 6 a.m.
Dresses and accessories for the mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaids are also available, along with attendant gifts and shoes.
The dresses are offered in a wide range of sizes and split between the St. Petersburg and Oldsmar locations.
