The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Brandon woman whose body was found in a storage unit.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Brandon woman whose body was found in a storage unit.

The body of Terrie Rena Scott, 47, was found Saturday afternoon in a small storage unit at Public Storage, 1007 East Brandon Blvd. She suffered upper-body trauma, according to a release form the sheriff's office.

The victim's husband, Damon Scott, said his wife had gone to the Public Storage to retrieve some items from a friend's storage unit. According to the manager, she arrived at the storage business at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Damon Scott arrived at the business looking for his wife about 15 minutes later and drove to the drove to the storage unit with the manager, the release said. They found Terrie Rena Scott's vehicle outside the unit with the engine running and called the sheriff's office.

A K-9 unit found the victim's body inside the unit.

Detectives are conducting interviews with friends and family today.
