TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Lightning will play a preseason game in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Sept. 21 against the Ottawa Senators.
The last NHL game played in Regina came on Sept. 28, 1990, when the Winnipeg Jets (now the Phoenix Coyotes) beat the St. Louis Blues in an exhibition game.
The entire Tampa Bay preseason schedule has not been announced, but the game in Regina is the second preseason game the team has scheduled in western Canada for September. The Lightning are also scheduled to face the Edmonton Oilers in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Sept. 24.
While the remaining preseason schedule won't be released by the team until next month, one more game in the western region of North America is expected to be part of the schedule, as well.
