Taxpayers have one more chance to file for Florida's Homestead Exemption for 2009.
Monday is the deadline to apply for the benefits. The application deadline is usually set for March 1, which fell on a Sunday this year.
Those who purchased homes in the state during 2008 can apply for the exemption, which is available only for primary homes.
Taxpayers wishing to apply should contact their county property appraiser's office or go online. The filing period began Jan. 1.
Primary homeowners are entitled to a $25,000 exemption on all property taxes and a second $25,000 for all except school taxes. Additional exemptions are available for disabled veterans who were Florida residents when they enlisted and low-income seniors in some jurisdictions.
