A 27-year-old St. Petersburg man was arrested Sunday morning, accused of attacking his girlfriend and his godsister at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, according to criminal arrest affidavits.
Toan Quoc Trinh, of 5396 N. 63rd St., St. Petersburg, was charged with two counts of battery and one count of criminal mischief.
An arrest report gives this account of what happened about 4:30 a.m. in Room 229 of the hotel:
Trinh damaged the glass cover of a fire alarm and then went into the room and struck his godsister.
After the woman fell to the ground and hit her head, Trinh punched his girlfriend in the face and began choking her.
Trinh's godbrother witnessed the incident and called hotel security. The women's names and the motive behind the attack were not listed in the arrest report.
Trinh was being held without bail Sunday night at Orient Road Jail.
