Homeless Man Drowns Off Bayshore Boulevard

TAMPA - A homeless man died Tuesday night after he apparently fell into the water near Davis Islands and drowned, Tampa Fire Rescue officials say.
It is an isolated incident and appears to be an accident, authorities say.
Paramedics were dispatched to Bayshore Boulevard just north of the bridge that connects to Davis Islands at 9:17 p.m. Bystanders found a man in the water, pulled him onto a dock and tried to revive him, authorities say.
Tampa Fire Rescue dispatchers said the man was not breathing. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died, authorities say.
Tampa police are investigating the incident.
