NEW PORT RICHEY - An eighth suspected member of the Valentine Bloods gang was taken into custody Monday, according to a Pasco County sheriff's report.
Deputies arrested Harold Jason Vazquez Jr., 27, at 8637 Frontier Trail. He was wanted on a federal weapons charge.
On Feb. 11, the sheriff's office, New Port Richey Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced federal indictments against eight men described as local members of the national gang.
Five were arrested in an initial sting. Two more were arrested in the days following, one in Temple Terrace and the other in New Jersey. Vazquez was the final arrest in the string of indictments.
Together, the men face 24 counts of weapons and drug charges. The eight have been arrested a total of 120 times and have 20 convictions among them, records state.
