A train struck a flatbed truck about 11 a.m. Tuesday, and the driver was treated at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. Kim Jan Nagelhoute, 51, a driver for Helena Chemical Co., was attempting to pull across the railroad tracks and into the Dade City business's driveway when the crash occurred, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins, spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash caused 17 empty coal cars and two locomotives to derail. Willie Lee Brown, an engineer on the CSX train, was taken to Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City; his condition was not immediately available. Charges are pending against Nagelhoute.
