Tampa Man Molested Boy, Police Say

A Tampa man is accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy he didn't know.
He was arrested Tuesday.
The incident occurred Dec. 16 at 5702 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa police say. Officers say Eduardo C. Serrano, 52, approached the stranger at a corner and molested the child. The child told a school resource officer about what happened because the boy has a rapport with the officer, Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said.
The school resource officer contacted detectives.
DNA recently was matched to Serrano, according to a report. Serrano was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home, 110 Logarto Circle in Tampa. He was charged with one count of felony sexual battery.
He remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail has been set.
