WESTON - First lady Michelle Obama is now part of the "Female Force," a series of biographical comic books illustrated by a South Florida artist.
Vinnie Tartamella is a freelance illustrator from Weston. He is the lead cover artist for the comic book series featuring Obama, Hillary Clinton, Caroline Kennedy and Sarah Palin.
The 28-year-old Tartamella says he wanted each political figure to look patriotic, not in the "very cartoony style like comics are."
The first issue will be released this month featuring Clinton and Palin. The Obama issue debuts in April, while the Kennedy comic book comes out in June.
The series focuses on women who are popular and influential, regardless of political affiliation.
Each comic book costs $3.99.
