Canine teams from throughout Pinellas County will graduate tonight from a four-month training program designed to hone their skills.
The graduation ceremony starts at 7 p.m. at Largo High School, 410 Missouri Ave. It is free and open to the public.
"The decision to use a canine on any particular call for service comes with the confidence that the officer and their canine partner have the experience and knowledge to get the mission accomplished," a Largo Police Department news release states. "These officers and their canines tirelessly train for 4 months to learn their skills."
Agencies with graduating teams include police departments in Largo, Clearwater and St. Petersburg.
Tonight's ceremony includes skits to show off skills.
