A 35-year-old man died this morning in a crash on U.S. 92 in Seffner after being partly thrown from his pickup truck, troopers said.
Julius T. Hughey of Seffner was driving westbound about 1:40 a.m. when his 2005 Nissan Frontier veered off the road for an unknown reason, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck careened onto the grassy shoulder and struck some supports to an elevated wooden pedestrian walkway.
Hughey, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partly ejected from the truck, troopers said. He died at the scene.
