TAMPA - About 60 students took to the skies Saturday, getting bird's-eye views of Hillsborough County as part of a partnership with the Young Eagles Association.
Four pilots donated their time and fuel costs to offer free flights from Tampa Executive Airport, formerly Vandenberg Airport, to the youngsters from Stewart Middle Magnet School and Burnett Middle School.
Stewart student Austin Morgan, 13, had his first-ever flight in the Silver Lady, a 1946 Aircoupe piloted by Earl Groff.
"It was very windy," Austin said.
