HOMOSASSA - A couple was seriously injured this afternoon when the motorcycle they were riding flipped over on U.S. 19 in Citrus County.
Joseph A. Tosolini, 59, and Wanda L. Tosolini, 53, both of Keystone Heights, were airlifted with serious injuries to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Neither rider was wearing a helmet.
According to an FHP news release:
The crash happened about 2:45 p.m. south of Bradshaw Street when a gray car traveling south changed lanes in front of the motorcycle.
Joseph Tosolini attempted to brake and steer away from the car but lost control of the vehicle. It fell on its side and flipped over, throwing both riders from the cycle.
No charges were filed. The crash is under investigation.
