Patrol: Woman Runs Stop Sign, Kills Lakeland Driver

A Dover driver ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of another car, killing its driver, late Sunday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Kimberlee A. Pacheco, 31, was driving east on Old Polk City Road about 10:20 p.m., when she missed a stop sign and plowed into Hyandai Elantra traveling south on State Road 33, highway patrol Sgt. Steve Gaskins said.
The driver of the Elantra, 38-year-old Michael O'Brien of Lakeland, was killed in the crash, Gaskins said.
Pacheco received minor injuries and refused to be taken to a hospital, according to the crash report.
Charges against Pacheco are pending, the patrol said.
