Man Who Posed As Police Officer Charged With Third Attack

A Largo man now faces a third charge of pretending to be a police officer and luring a woman into his car to perform sex acts.
Detectives say they linked James Blue, 40, of 11574 104th St. N., Largo, with an attack that happened in November 2008 in the 1600 block of Druid Road in Clearwater.
Blue showed a fake police badge, forced a 29-year-old woman into his vehicle and raped her, detectives said. He used the same modus operandi to attack a woman on February 15, 2008 at South Fort Harrison Avenue and Lakeview Road in Clearwater and a third woman on January 24, 2009 in the area of Fairmont Street and Osceola Avenue, detectives said.
Blue is charged with impersonating a police officer, sexual battery and kidnapping in all three cases. He is being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
