he Little Everglades Steeplechase in Dade City drew riders from across the state and thousands of spectators Sunday.
Steeplechase combines the endurance of flat-track racing with athletic jumping. But the annual event, a premier social affair in Pasco County, was more than about horses and riders.
Between races, spectators enjoyed Dixieland jazz, crazy hat contests and races with Jack Russell terriers.
A parade Saturday kicked off the weekend festivities, culminating Sunday with the races.
