TAMPA - When last we heard from the Lingerie Football League, it was enmeshed in controversy during Super Bowl week, and its premier event – the Lingerie Bowl – was canceled.

Now the organization and its scantily clad female athletes are back.

The Tampa Bay Breeze, one of 10 teams in the league, will play a four-game schedule this fall that includes two home games at the St. Pete Times Forum, according to a news release.

"Tampa's most beautiful and athletic women" will compete in seven-on-seven full-contact tackle football on Friday nights, the news release said.

The Breeze will play the Chicago Bliss on Dec. 4 and the Atlanta Steam on Jan. 15. Both games kick off at 7:30 p.m.

Road games are scheduled Oct. 30 at the New England Euphoria and Jan. 22 at the Miami Caliente.

Regular-season tickets go on sale March 16 at the Forum box office or through Ticketmaster. Tickets are priced at $17.75, $27.75, $42.75, and $67.75. VIP Packages are $137.75 and include seats within the first two rows and all-inclusive food and beverages. Prices do not include service charges. For ticket information, call (813) 301-2500 or go to www.stpetetimesforum.com.

The league's season is scheduled to run from Sept. 4 to Jan. 22. Other teams include the Seattle Mist, Los Angeles Temptation, San Diego Seduction, Phoenix Scorch and Dallas Desire, the news release said.

The Lingerie Bowl, scheduled to take place during Super Bowl week, was canceled in a flap over its location, the Caliente nudist resort in Pasco County.

League officials wanted to ensure that those watching the game were clothed. Resort officials nixed that idea, and the game was scratched.
