Anclote Getting Ready For Shark Attack

HOLIDAY - When the school opens in August, it will be known as "Anclote High School, Home of the Sharks."
Principal Monica Isle confirmed the choice Tuesday. The name was chosen in a vote of students from the feeder schools that will attend the Sweetbriar Drive school. Isle said about 400 participated in the vote with 57 percent for Sharks.
The next step is to hire an athletic director and, hopefully, a football coach before spring practice begins in May. The Sharks will open with grades 9 through 11. They will participate in Class 3A in football and Class 4A in most other sports.
