After receiving a tip, Clearwater detectives arrested a Tampa man yesterday who they say robbed a Fifth Third Bank branch on March 3.
Denario Jones, 30, of 4131 Royal Banyan Drive, No. 301, is accused of walking into the branch at 2710 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. at about 10:30 a.m. while wearing a nylon stocking cap, said Elizabeth Watts, Clearwater's public safety spokeswoman.
He then handed a teller a note that demanded cash and implied he had a weapon, she said. Jones obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and ran from the bank, she said.
