Delta Air Lines is reporting that fraudulent e-mails that could contain viruses or other problems affecting computers have been sent to consumers in recent days and should not be opened.
The e-mails claim that the recipient has purchased a Delta ticket, that a credit card has been charged, and that an invoice or receipt is attached to the email.
Delta said the e-mails did not originate with the airline and credit cards have not been charged.
Delta believes that no personal information provided to Delta was used to generate the e-mails.
