Monday's raid of five connected warehouses in Palm Harbor not only revealed hundreds of marijuana plants and several thousand dollars, but it also led to a second location, where more drugs and money were found, Pinellas sheriff's authorities said.
At 6 a.m. Monday, narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at a string of warehouses behind Four Seasons Plaza, 39070 U.S. 19 N., sheriff's spokeswoman Marianne Pasha said.
One person was taken into custody, and investigators learned of a second location involved in the marijuana-cultivation operation, although they were not disclosing where it was, sheriff's authorities said.
Detectives have confiscated a total of $146,020 and 222 pounds of marijuana, which is worth at least $1,500 a pound, or $333,000, Pasha said. At the warehouses on U.S. 19, more than 450 plants were found.
The warehouses shared walls and took up about a third of the units in an L-shaped building behind the plaza. Pasha said the grower put up walls inside the units to hide the grow operation from someone walking through the front door or casual observers.
