TAMPA - A sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former aide to County Commissioner Kevin White is headed to mediation.
An order by U.S. District Judge Richard A. Lazzara on Tuesday allows for talks between the parties before the case goes to trial.
Alyssa Ogden filed the lawsuit against the county last year, accusing White of repeatedly approaching her romantically, beginning within days of her hiring in April 2007. She said she was fired in November for rebuffing his advances.
White has denied Ogden's allegations, calling them baseless. He claims she was fired for poor work performance and failing to understand aspects of her position.
White declined to comment on the pending litigation; Ogden couldn't be reached.
