TAMPA - Kellon H. Wilson, the older brother of University of South Florida linebacker Kion Wilson, was shot and killed Saturday in Miami.
Kellon Wilson was 25.
"My heart goes out to Kion and his family," USF coach Jim Leavitt said in a statement. "This is a very difficult situation and we are completely supportive of his family during this time."
According to a Miami police report, Wilson was involved in an argument as "a result of a relationship the victim had with the wife of the suspect that fired the deadly shot, Louis Lee Bradshaw."
Bradshaw was arrested on first degree murder and his wife, Christina Steward-Bradshaw, was arrested on accessory after the fact.
Last September in an interview with the Tampa Tribune, Wilson said when he was a teen-ager his mother moved their family, which consisted of seven other brothers and sisters, to Jacksonville to escape the bad influences of Miami.
As a youngster, Wilson said he hung around with a group called the "191 Boys." He said seven of them were later arrested for armed robbery.
"As far as incarcerated, I'd say there are at least seven that got 10 [years] or more," Wilson said. "I know three that are dead."
Leavitt and USF assistant John Hendrick will attend Saturday's funeral.
