Police: Man Sets Fire To Himself In Sarasota

SARASOTA - A man apparently poured gasoline over himself and set himself on fire Tuesday night, suffering burns over about 75 percent of his body.
The fire occurred at about 9 p.m. in the 900 block of Gary Street in north Sarasota, said Sarasota police Lt. Randy Boyd.
A neighbor saw the man and put the fire out, Boyd said.
The 40-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was taken by ambulance to the parking lot of a nearby Winn-Dixie store. Once there he was loaded into an emergency helicopter and flown to a Tampa hospital.
