Share Your Ode To Pollen, Haiku Fans

Published: March 11, 2009

The majority of the Tampa Bay area plows through boxes and boxes of tissues to battle the effects of that great green powder we call pollen. It's time vent your frustrations in the best way possible: haiku.

Use the comments area bellow to come up with the funniest, most clever or most poetic haiku of the day.

If you can't remember that third-grade lesson, a haiku is a form of Japanese poetry with three metric phrases of five, seven and five syllables, respectively. Proper haiku typically contain a seasonal reference.

To help inspire you, here are some examples from the ever-so-versatile staff at TBO.com:

Yellow pollen car
Caked from lack of rain and care
Elicits a sneeze

Car wash cost eight bucks
Pollen covered in eight hours
Mighty oaks will die

I know the reason
For my persistent sneezing.
Busy bee afterglow
