Nadel's Asset Request Denied

A federal judge has denied Florida hedge fund manager Arthur Nadel's request for a hearing to consider releasing some of his frozen assets to pay attorney fees.

In a motion filed last week, Nadel's attorney said the 76-year-old Sarasota man can't pay his firm to represent him for the entire case.

Nadel has been charged with securities fraud and is incarcerated in New York on $5 million bail. He's accused of bilking as much as $350 million from investors.

Honda Releases Hybrid Pricing
American Honda Motor Co. said the 2010 Insight will arrive at U.S. showrooms starting March 24 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $19,800 for the base LX model.

The Hybrid EX, which will include some premium features, will have a base price of $21,300, Honda said.

The car is expected to compete head-on for hybrid shoppers with Toyota's Prius. The Prius has long been the best-selling hybrid in the United States.

Toyota has not announced pricing for its much-touted 2010 Prius, but the 2009 Prius starts at $22,000, according to Toyota's Web site.

American Cutting Capacity
American Airlines plans to cut U.S. flying by 9 percent this year and trim international capacity 2.5 percent as it battles falling travel demand in a recession.

Thomas W. Horton, chief financial officer for American parent AMR Corp., said Tuesday that bookings during the next four months are running about 2.5 percentage points behind the pace of the same period in 2008, with international bookings running 4.5 points behind - signs that weak February traffic trends could continue through spring and into early summer.
Delta Air Lines Warns Of E-Mail
Delta Air Lines is reporting that fraudulent e-mails that could contain viruses or other problems affecting computers have been sent to consumers in recent days and should not be opened.

The e-mails claim that the recipient has purchased a Delta ticket, that a credit card has been charged and that an invoice or receipt is attached to the e-mail.
