LAKE PLACID A Fort Pierce woman remained in jail Thursday on a $26,250 bond after being arrested on warrants alleging she hit a man with her vehicle and fled.
Liisa Danielle Koola, 21, of Fort Pierce, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run and driving while a license is suspended, first offense.
On Dec. 13, 2008, Koola reportedly was involved in an argument with two others. She left in her vehicle, but turned around, sped toward one of the men and hit him with the car, according to the warrant report. The blow caused the victim to land on the hood.
Koola then allegedly sped away without checking to see how the victim was. She also did not call law enforcement to report the accident, the report stated.
The victim suffered contusions, a strain in his lower back and tenderness in his left shoulder.
Koola had also reportedly been told by deputies with the Highlands County Sheriff's Office the night before, during a separate incident, that her license was suspended.
Lake Placid Police Officer Christopher Ritenour made the arrest.
