A memorial service will be held Saturday at Zephyrhills High School for 17-year-old Richard "Richie" Seufzer.
Seufzer died Monday with his mentor, pilot Paul Lee Lopez, when their single-engine MX2 aerobatic plane crashed in an orange grove near Dade City. The flight was to be the last before the completion of Seufzer's senior project.
Memorial services will take place at noon Saturday at Frances Catholic Church in Thonotosassa, followed by a service at the school, 6335 12th St., Zephyrhills, at 3:30 p.m.
Lopez, 40, was an award winning aerobatics pilot who fell in love with flying as a child in Southern California. A former commercial banker, Lopez lived in an apartment at the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport.
Visitation for Lopez will be 5 to 7 pm Sunday at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 U.S. 301, Dade City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens, Hodges Family Home
