Memphis Hits 30 Wins Again

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Robert Dozier scored 16 points and fourth-ranked Memphis became the first NCAA Division I program to win 30 games in four consecutive seasons Friday by beating Houston (21-11) 74-49 in the Conference USA Tournament semifinals.

The Tigers (30-3) had been tied with Duke for wins in a four-year span heading into the game and now have 134 wins in the past four seasons.

Memphis will play Tulsa in today's championship, looking to pair a fourth straight C-USA Tournament title with the Tigers' regular-season titles. Shawn Taggart, Doneal Mack and Wesley Witherspoon each added 10 points.

INDIANAPOLIS - Chris Allen led three Spartans in double figures, and No. 7 Michigan State (26-5) kept its hopes for a No. 1 seed alive with a victory against scrappy Minnesota (22-10) in the Big Ten quarterfinals. It was Michigan State's sixth straight win, and ninth in its last 10 games.

Allen finished with 17 points, Big Ten Player of the Year Kalin Lucas had 12 and Marquise Gray added 11.

LOS ANGELES - James Harden scored 24 points, and No. 23 Arizona State (24-8) topped No. 13 Washington (25-8) in the Pac-10 semifinals after blowing a 21-point lead.

OKLAHOMA CITY - Zaire Taylor scored a season-high 19 points and Leo Lyons added 12 of his 15 points in the second half as No. 14 Missouri (27-6) beat Oklahoma State (22-11) to move on to the Big 12 title game.

TEMPLE 55, NO. 19 XAVIER 53

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Dionte Christmas scored 20 points and defending champion Temple held No. 19 Xavier (25-7) to season lows in points and field-goal percentage in a victory in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
Lavoy Allen added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the fourth-seeded Owls (21-11).

INDIANAPOLIS - Robbie Hummel scored 20 points and No. 24 Purdue (23-9) beat Penn State (22-11) in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals.

LAS VEGAS - Lorrenzo Wade scored 16 of his 24 points after halftime and hit two key free throws with 7.6 seconds left, carrying San Diego State (23-8) past No. 25 BYU (25-7) in the Mountain West Conference semifinals.

AMERICAN 73, HOLY CROSS 57

WASHINGTON - American (24-7) is headed to the big show for the second year in a row, after suffocating Holy Cross (18-14) in Patriot League Tournament championship.
