A Bradenton man has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing this morning of another man in a restaurant parking lot, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
Edwin Alfonso Vargas-Lopez, 34, was arrested shortly after a fight outside Antojitos Mexicanos, a restaurant at 320 Cortez Rd W., Bradenton, deputies said. His booking information was not available.
Deputies responded to the restaurant parking lot about 2:40 a.m. to discover Fernando Castulo Morales, 32, of Bradenton dead from a stab wound to the chest.
A woman, April Soria, 24, had been stabbed in the hand.
Witnesses said the men got into an argument while Vargas-Lopez was sitting in his truck. Soria stepped between the men to break up the dispute when she and Morales were stabbed, deputies said.
Vargas-Lopez drove away, but investigators tracked him to a Bradenton residence this morning and arrested him.
No information was available on what caused the argument.
