ZEPHYRHILLS - When he won his city council seat in November, Manny Funes had enough campaign money left over to donate to charity.
But the incumbent councilman has raised just $200 so far in his re-election campaign, according to treasurer's reports filed Friday.
His opponent, Carl Sullivan, is outpacing Funes in fund-raising for the April 14 municipal election. Sullivan, a fire captain and paramedic for Temple Terrace, has raised $1,795 in monetary and in-kind donations, including $901 from local firefighters' unions.
Dozens of supporters have bought campaign T-shirts and plan to march with Sullivan in today's Founder's Day Parade. A friend donated an antique fire engine to use for the parade, he said.
Sullivan also is outspending Funes, whose only listed expense is his $63 qualifying fee. Sullivan has spent nearly $350 so far.
