The 387th Transportation Detachment, an Army Reserve unit stationed in Tampa, have returned from their yearlong deployment supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
A welcome home ceremony Friday included the presentation of Theater Awards for the soldiers and their families.
The members of the unit said they were glad to be back and happy with the greetings.
"The people of the United States have been great all the way around," said Lt. Col. John Hornberger. "Coming through the airport, people take time ... to reach out, shake a hand, pat us on the back. So, yeah, it's just really wonderful to be back."
The detachment moved food, supplies and diplomats through Iraq and Afghanistan.
